The Lumis Ensemble was founded in March 2025 by the Portuguese flautist Inês Paiva and consists of four renowned musicians based in Europe: Inês Paiva, flutist, from Portugal; Annina Pritschow, violinist, from Germany; Claudia Besné, harpist, from Spain; and Astrid Nyborg Berg, guitarist from Norway.

This distinguished ensemble is an active part of the project Mindful Image and Unique Beauty and will premiere works by four international female composers in June 2025. It hopes to take this and other future projects to more different places all over the world. With an already planned tour for the summer of 2026, this ensemble hopes to take and reach more and different audiences, presenting an elaborate and intricate choice of newly written repertoire inspired by imperative stands and ideals.

One of its most important goals is to share these perceptions in a society where music is becoming more and more commercial. Bringing new music to the table, written only by women composers, it aims to educate and share new music with an interesting and original instrument setting, defying the laws of newly composed music and testing the fusion of the instruments' sound colours and articulated textures.

Since it is composed exclusively by women, aiming to play new music by promoting women composers, it is of the utmost importance and close to the heart that this ensemble is able to pursue bigger audiences and share beautiful music with the world, making it as well more accessible to everyone.

At the end of 2025, this ensemble will put out its first recorded album with all the compositions that will be premiered during the concerts on June 7th and 8th at the Inter-Arts Center (Black Room), in Malmö, Sweden.
